GamFratesi's product designs often draw inspiration from nature, as seen in many of their creations. For KOYORI, the design duo have designed products with references to a cat, such as the Miau series, and to branches and leaves in the Edaha chair. This time, the Uribo stools—Uribo meaning baby wild boar in Japanese—continue this nature-inspired approach.
The new stool series designed by GamFratesi reimagines the iconic backrest of Sori Yanagi Chair into the seat itself. The result is a remarkably simple yet striking piece of furniture that exudes a modern aesthetic. "At the heart of the stool is a commitment to simplicity and beauty," say GamFratesi. "We were inspired by the wood bending techniques of the manufacturer and sought to create a stool that celebrates the inherent beauty of this craftsmanship.”
Despite its substantial build, the Makuri Lounge Chair remains lightweight and portable, making it convenient for everyday use. Its simplicity also enhances its versatility, allowing it to blend seamlessly into any setting while subtly enhancing the ambiance of the room, whether in a modern minimalist space or a more traditional environment.
Makuri lounge chair is a chair about the iconic curves. Comprising two curves along with squares and rectangles, each element embodies a familiar shape, seamlessly and naturally integrating into our visual experience. The chair also reflects the linearity Anastassiades is well known for, along with subtle elements of spheres, translated into Makuri’s curves. Despite its ample size, the chair possesses a certain airiness and represents ultimate simplicity.
In celebration of KOYORI designer Michael Anastassiades' exhibition at ANDREAS MURKUDIS in Berlin, Germany, KOYORI will showcase his latest creation, the Makuri Lounge Chair and Ottoman, at Store 81.
Building on the success of the Miau Armchair, the Miau Lounge Chair is introduced as a natural extension of the Miau family. With its sleek proportions and timeless design, the Miau Lounge Chair enhances the original concept by offering increased comfort and relaxation.

Edaha Chair, which was only showcased as a prototype at the launch in 2022, has since come a long way to become a final product and is now finally in production.
Edaha is composed mostly of curves and curved surfaces and has almost no horizontal, vertical, or parallel parts, making it difficult to process and takes a long time to create.

Nei stands as a testament to the beauty of simplicity and precision in design. Its structure, though seemingly simple, is adorned with thoughtful details to a level of distinction. At first glance, the Nei table captures attention with its elegant form and striking proportions. However, upon closer inspection, its true allure lies in the meticulous craftsmanship and innovative design elements that set it apart.
The design of Musubi Armchair emphasizes the beautifully yet efficiently sculptured parts of wood. The backrest, arms, and the seat are all like sculptures, assembled as one in a unique curved shape.
The exceptional talent of GamFratesi, combined with their love and respect toward Japanese traditions and craftsmanship, resulted in creating a beautiful armchair that carries a nostalgic feeling yet freshness at the same time. Working with solid wood was a fascinating experience for the duo especially because they were able to work very closely with the workshop for the KOYORI project.

The Shaku Chair is not just a piece of furniture; it's a journey through time, a warm, beautiful, and simple chair that seems to narrate the history itself. Mizuhiki serves a dual purpose in Japanese tradition: not only does it secure gift wrappings, but it also conveys the emotions of the giver through its intricate knots.
