Since its founding, KOYORI has been aiming to ensure that our production and delivery processes are sustainable and help us become the leading brand with a culture of transparency.

As a first step to establish carbon footprint transparency, KOYORI have been measuring the carbon footprint generated by the products and the results are published on the website. Following our carbon footprint measurement, KOYORI have offset the amount of CO2 generated by the manufacturing process during 2022-2023. The offset was bought through More Trees, a forest conservation organization founded by a Japanese musician, the late Ryuichi Sakamoto. The CO2 emitted through our corporate activities, is offset by “More Trees Forests” absorbing the emissions. The offset credit is used to forest conservation activities.

KOYORI will continually work and take further steps to reduce the carbon footprint across our product life cycle. In addition to measure the carbon footprint generated by production, we aim to measure those generated by our transportation and offset in 2025.

Needless to say, KOYORI’s select manufactures have legacies of outstanding craftsmanship combined with advanced technologies while at the same time respecting and caring for the people, the nature, the environment, and the materials.

The manufactures take pride in inheriting ideas, knowledge, and techniques of their predecessors, and they have the mission of ensuring that the baton is passed on to the next generation. KOYORI also aims to carry forward the legacy of the beauty, creativity, and authenticity of Japanese craftsmanship and also convey it to the international market.

In addition, our furniture manufacturers are pioneers in utilizing Japanese local softwoods, such as cedar, which were previously considered unsuitable for furniture making. Through advanced processing techniques, they have made these woods viable for furniture production. KOYORI aims to further explore the feasibility of creating furniture from these sustainable, local materials, thereby deepening our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.

At KOYORI, sustainability is a core value. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and ensuring transparency in our processes. Our efforts in measuring and offsetting our carbon footprint, supporting local craftsmanship, and using locally sourced materials are just the beginning.
We appreciate your support and look forward to continuing our journey towards a more sustainable future.
